RENTALS

With the lower prices of new TV and the
declining interest in rental we have decided not to put any further sets
on rental other than from our ex-rental stock and which we will reserve
for existing rental customers wishing to upgrade.
TV
We will be writing to all rental
customers by mid February about the Digital changeover which occurs in
two stages on 4th and 18th April. Freeview sets
will need to be retuned on both of these dates. We will assist in
retuning if required but there will probably be a delay as tuning
queries are expected to be very high during this time. If you can retune
the set yourself it will help us.
For the
older sets with just analogue channels 1-6 we can fit a Digital Freeview
Box and we will be writing to you about this.
If you
decide that it is time to buy a set instead we have Panasonic and Linsar
sets with 5 year manufacturer's warranty in sizes from 16" to 50" and in
the long term this will be more economical than renting.
VHS Video Recorders
VHS
recorders will still continue to play your existing recordings but will
not be able to record programmes via your aerial unless you have a
separate Digital Freeview Box fitted. If the ability to only play
existing recordings is of any benefit to you we can give you the
recorder and you can cancel your future payments for it.
Combined DVD & VHS
Recorders which record Freeview
These
should continue working but we will retune if you are unable to do so.
Most
customers pay their rental in advance by Standing Order. If rental
equipment you have paid for does not work we will refund the payment for
the month in which it fails and ask you to cancel your standing order or
adjust it if you also have and continue to rent a TV which has Freeview
already.
